Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and preparing animals for examinations or procedures
- Support veterinary staff during surgeries, diagnostics, and treatments such as blood sampling and diagnostic radiology
- Manage electronic health records systems accurately, documenting medical notes, treatments, and patient conditions with precision
- Perform manual handling of animals safely, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their visit
- Conduct health education for pet owners on topics like nutrition, preventive care, and post-operative instructions
- Support emergency response efforts by providing basic life support (CPR) and assisting in critical care situations
- Maintain clinic cleanliness, sterilize equipment, and ensure proper storage of medical supplies
Experience
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred
- Critical care experience involving acute patient management is advantageous
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and EMR management systems is essential
- Hands-on experience with blood sampling, patient condition reporting, and diagnostic radiology techniques is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients about medical procedures and patient care plan
