St. Christopher’s Day School is hiring an experienced Assistant Director!
We are looking for a dedicated, organized, and compassionate early-childhood professional to join our leadership team in Houston.
The ideal candidate will have experience in childcare or early-childhood education, staff supervision, classroom operations, parent communication, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Support the Director with daily school operations
- Supervise and support teachers and staff
- Assist with staff scheduling and classroom coverage
- Communicate professionally with parents and families
- Help maintain compliance with Texas childcare licensing requirements
- Support enrollment, tours, and family communication
- Address day-to-day classroom and staff concerns
- Help ensure a positive, safe, and nurturing environment
- Step in for the Director when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a childcare, preschool, or early-childhood leadership role
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
- Knowledge of Texas childcare licensing requirements preferred
- Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced childcare environment
- High School Diploma
- Bilingual prefered Spanish/English
