Job Summary
Help shape our new afterschool program as we create a unique, child-centered, creative community for kindergarten and first graders from 3pm-6pm daily. Small group size, great ratios and an experienced staff allow you to plan exciting projects, tailor the afternoon to the group's interests and nurture individual children's development.
Duties
- Create a warm community through encouragement, positive discipline and modeling problem solving
- Nurture imagination through open-ended play, art, and games
- Communicate and connect with teammates and parents
- Support children with special needs and facilitate inclusion of all children
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings
- Knowledge of Conscious Discipline, Responsive Classroom or other positive discipline approaches helpful
- Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols required; training provided if needed
- Experience in special education is a plus
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
