Soxland International, Inc., a leading full-service hosiery company with 40 years in the industry is looking for a Packaging & Graphic Designer to join our team who has a passion for creating packaging. This role covers the full packaging lifecycle, from concept and dieline creation to factory coordination and final production files, across our hosiery, accessory, and seasonal gift set lines. A strong grasp of retail presentation and brand consistency is essential; experience in sock or textile design is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Concept and execute packaging designs for hosiery and accessory products that are visually compelling, retail-ready, and consistent with brand standards.
- Build dielines and prepare finalized production files across multiple packaging formats — hangtags, bellybands, blister packs, gift boxes, header cards, and beyond.
- Partner with the sales and production teams throughout the packaging process to meet brand guidelines and account-specific retailer requirements.
- Audit and update existing packaging copy and design elements to reflect current product specs and incorporate feedback from buyers.
- Own quality control across all packaging deliverables, verifying copy accuracy, artwork placement, and adherence to structural and compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with overseas vendors and factories for packaging development, revisions, and production sign-off.
- Evaluate factory-submitted layouts and physical samples against approved artwork, checking for color fidelity, material quality, and proper fit.
- Build out physical and digital mockups and presentation-ready comps for internal reviews and buyer-facing meetings.
- Organize and maintain a centralized library of packaging files, dieline templates, and brand style references.
- Collaborate with partners when applicable to confirm that packaging output is compliant with all relevant brand and usage guidelines.
- Track shifts in packaging trends, retail aesthetics, and material innovations to keep our product presentation competitive.
- Research emerging packaging approaches and bring forward fresh ideas for formats, materials, and structural solutions.
- Pitch in on broader design team needs, including line sheet updates, Pantone color matching, and miscellaneous creative support.
Qualifications
- Degree or relevant coursework in graphic design, packaging design, industrial design, communications, advertising, fashion, or a related field — or equivalent internship/professional experience.
- 2+ years of experience in packaging design, portfolio focused on accessories or fashion/lifestyle products is a plus
- Self-starter who can work independently while also being a collaborative team player who takes initiative.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills — solution-focused mindset.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required: Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat.
- Experience with packaging dielines and print production workflows strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and pivot in a fast-paced environment.
- Works well under pressure and can effectively troubleshoot issues.
- Strong interest in fashion, apparel, and hosiery design.
- Interest in or experience with sock/textile design (Pointcarré or similar) is a plus — but not required; we're happy to train the right candidate.
