Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Cleaner, dedicated to maintaining pristine and safe environments in a busy facility during evening hours. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the cleanliness and hygiene standards of a commercial setting, ensuring a welcoming space for staff and visitors alike. The position is scheduled for Monday, Thursday, and Friday evenings after 3:30 PM, with each shift lasting approximately four hours. We are seeking motivated individuals who take pride in their work and are committed to upholding safety and sanitation protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
- Conduct custodial tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and surface disinfecting to maintain high hygiene levels.
- Operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers and other custodial equipment with attention to safe lifting practices and proper maintenance.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment.
- Assist with light facilities maintenance tasks when needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and supplies used, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation (such as floor buffers), and chemical handling safety procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Excellent time management skills to complete all assigned tasks within the scheduled shift.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work independently while adhering to company protocols.
- Basic understanding of facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is a plus.
