Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging supplies, and ensuring cleanliness in accordance with health regulation policies
- Take vital signs, record medical histories, and update patient information accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and post-care instructions with clarity and compassion
- Manage medical documentation including medical records, reports, and correspondence while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Support acute care needs by responding promptly to patient concerns and assisting with emergency procedures such as CPR or basic life support (BLS) when necessary
- Ensure compliance with physiology knowledge, anatomy principles, and nursing protocols to deliver high-quality patient care
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role with acute care exposure preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing practices
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient electronic health records management
- Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance for safeguarding patient information
- Ability to perform first aid confidently and respond effectively during emergencies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating leadership qualities in nursing support roles
