The Recovery Peer Mentor plays an essential role in maintaining the culture and the health of the program. This position is logistical and relational; providing support for clients through completing daily tasks while also guiding them in early recovery.
The ideal candidate is a female identifying individual who embodies stability, empathy, and strong boundaries, has personal experience in a 12 Step recovery program, and who feels called to support women through the transitional phase of early recovery with both structure and heart.
Moonrise Recovery is an integrative sober-living program for women that weaves holistic practices with innovative clinical support. We support the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—so each woman can build a life she loves and no longer needs to escape from.
Our mission is to empower women in recovery from addiction and mental health challenges to shift out of survival and into a life of independence, belonging, and aliveness. The program is trauma- and attachment-informed, and rooted in somatic attunement and intentional community care.
Duties
1. House Oversight
- Engage on-site, as a presence to ensure safety, accountability, and structure within the home
- Uphold program agreements, house rules, and curfews in a supportive and relational manner
- Manage scheduling and communication for household activities, group meetings, and resident check-ins
- Monitor house cleanliness, chore completion, and general orderliness, modeling self-respect and shared responsibility
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as supply management, grocery coordination, and household inventory
2. Resident Support & Mentorship
- Provide daily guidance and encouragement to residents navigating early recovery
- Facilitate evening check-ins, offering emotional regulation and grounding support as needed
- Model healthy communication, emotional regulation, and self-care practices
- Offer peer-level mentorship informed by lived experience or strong empathy for recovery journeys
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical boundaries at all times
3. Transportation & Appointment Support
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to meetings, appointments, and community engagements as needed
- Support residents in accessing local recovery meetings, volunteer opportunities, and wellness activities around Bend
- Coordinate transportation schedules with staff to ensure continuity of care
4. On-Call & Crisis Support
- Serve as the primary on-call person for resident needs outside of regular staff hours
- Respond calmly and effectively to crises, de-escalating situations and communicating with clinical staff when appropriate
- Maintain strong communication with the Program Director and Lead Therapist regarding any significant resident concerns or incidents
5. Team Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in weekly clinical staff meetings and ongoing communication threads with the leadership team
- Contribute observations that support residents’ progress, stability, and growth
- Help bridge communication between residents and the clinical team, ensuring continuity and consistency
- Collaborate on ways to enhance the house environment and strengthen community culture
Skills
- Personal or professional experience in recovery, preferably involved in a 12 Step program; strong empathy and alignment with trauma-informed care required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to hold compassionate boundaries
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle
- Organized, dependable, and self-directed
- Willingness to participate in ongoing learning around somatics, trauma, and attachment theory
- Ability to remain calm, grounded, and solution-oriented during high-stress situations
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
