Role mission:
Driving force behind our field operations, safely and precisely maneuvering heavy machinery to keep our projects moving forward. Your mission is to operate specialized equipment with the highest level of skill, ensuring tasks like excavation, material handling, and site preparation are completed efficiently and to exact specifications. By prioritizing job-site safety, maintaining equipment health, and collaborating closely with the ground crew, you play a critical role in bringing our projects to life safely and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation & Precision Driving
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy and specialized mobile equipment (such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, or forklifts) depending on project needs.
- Execute precise maneuvers for earthmoving, digging, grading, lifting, or transporting materials according to blueprints, stakes, and project layouts.
- Adapt driving and operating techniques to varying weather conditions, terrain types, and tight job-site spaces.
Maintenance & Safety Inspections
- Conduct mandatory pre- and post-operation inspections (fluid levels, hydraulics, tires/tracks, brakes) to ensure the vehicle is completely safe for use.
- Perform basic field maintenance (cleaning tracks, greasing joints, topping off fluids) and immediately report any mechanical issues or damage to the supervisor.
- Strictly follow site safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE, checking for underground/overhead utilities, and monitoring blind spots for ground crew.
Site Collaboration & Logistics
- Coordinate seamlessly with spotters, ground crews, and truck drivers using hand signals or radio communication to ensure safe material movement.
- Assist with manual labor or ground tasks when equipment is idle to keep the project site organized and moving forward.
- Accurately log daily equipment usage, fuel consumption, and hours worked.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience operating heavy equipment.
- Background: A strong background in construction work is strictly required, with a solid understanding of job-site dynamics, safety standards, and project workflows.
- References: Professional references will be required and thoroughly checked upon interview.
- Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required. Relevant equipment certifications.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read site plans, stakes, grade markers, or blueprints.
- Physical Stamina: Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, sitting for long periods, and lifting heavy loads as needed.
