The Forensic Autopsy Technician position plays an active role in assisting pathologists with external and internal examinations of human remains. This position is involved in performing eviscerations; collecting and labeling toxicology specimens; fingerprinting and diagramming decedents; x-raying decedents; collecting, logging, and releasing property and evidence following proper chain of custody practice; cleaning instruments and the autopsy room; and re-stocking supplies. This position also involves standing for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering decedents.
