Title: Bilingual Receptionist
Program(s): Immigrant Family Resource Program
Reports to: Director, Immigrant Services
Job summary
Provide general service to guests; including greeting, ascertaining needs, relaying information or directing them accordingly, with continuous awareness of maintaining agency image. Interact with all guests in a culturally competent manner, demonstrate respect for all cultures.
Minimum requirements
- Must have at least a High School diploma, associate’s degree preferred.
- At least two years’ customer service experience
- Strong knowledge of community resources
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Technical proficiency with a personal computer and various software packages
- Ability to lift 30 pounds, sit, stand, bend, and twist
- Ability to type at least 30 words per minute
- Current Illinois driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance
Summary of essential job functions:
· Provide friendly, helpful, welcoming treatment to all guests, treating everyone as a priority
· Answer telephone and route calls; return all voicemails in a reasonable time frame
· Maintain accurate logs
· Reflect agency image in appropriate manner, behavior and dress
· Maintain an awareness of guest needs and role as communicator. Stay abreast of all current agency programs (including but not limited to Immigrant Services, CCR&R and Family Services) and procedures
· Communicate with impartiality and respect
· Maintain a high level of confidentiality
· Ensure coverage for the front desk daily
· Maintain desk area (clean entire desk area removing files, etc. and dusting under obstacles bi-monthly), lobby and gathering area reporting any facility needs
· Train staff on front desk operations as needed
· When capacity allows, handle Information and Referrals for Immigrant Service programs
· Report any issues of importance related to the operation of the YWCA and its guests
· Call appropriate staff for walk-ins as needed
· Organize brochures/materials in vestibule removing outdated information
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or CEO
Pay: From $17.50 per hour
