Duties
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas by following proper cleaning protocols to meet health standards.
- Assist with food handling, storage, and inventory management to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery times.
- Follow food safety management practices diligently to uphold hygiene standards during all stages of food production.
- Contribute to menu planning by suggesting innovative dishes or modifications based on seasonal ingredients or dietary needs.
- Mantain food inventory and reports.
Experience
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or institutional settings.
- Background in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on meal preparation and food handling.
- Demonstrated culinary experience including cooking techniques, recipe adherence, and food presentation skills.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume settings.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production, including proper knife skills, slicing techniques, and sanitation procedures.
- Experience in catering or large-scale meal service environments is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and adherence to safety protocols.
