MATH INSTRUCTOR
DESCRIPTION:
Strong background in effective math instructional strategies for students and may teach 7th and/or
8th grade math classes.. Background in, or strong desire to work with students at all levels of
math competency. Ability to team with staff and communicate well with parents and students is
critical to the success of this role.
REQUIREMENTS:
Washington State Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
Math major preferred.
Strong team player, willingness to work hard, conscientious, organized, ability to relate well to
students and staff.
Experience with advisory system preferred.
Strong familiarity with Washington State GLEs in math.
Knowledge of Common Core Standards.
Familiarity with OSPI Collection of Evidence assessment in math.
Ability and commitment to work towards all students making standard in Algebra and Geometry as
evidenced by OSPI’s End of Course exam.
Familiarity with OSPI math modules and preferred instructional strategies.
Ability to develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with other employees, parents, and
students where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Ability to collect meaningful data to drive instruction in a way that all students will have an
opportunity to learn.
Commitment to maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to
students, parents, staff, and program.
Experience providing an enthusiastic and positive learning climate that promotes appropriate
behavior and successful learning of diverse learners.
Responding to stressful situations appropriately.
Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
All positions are on site and in person only.
Wages – Teacher $57,008.00 to $112,441.00 Depending upon School District Employment
Benefits - Medical, Retirement, Basic Life/AD&D, Basic Long-Term Disability, FSA &
HSA. Any employee anticipated to work at least 630 hours in the school year is eligible for
benefits.
