We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Cities and Places buildings team in Philadelphia, PA . This role is open to experienced professionals across mid-level and senior experience ranges, with responsibilities scaled to experience.
Working alongside a collaborative team of architects and engineers, you will contribute to the design and delivery of structural systems across a diverse portfolio—including research and development facilities, mission-critical environments, data centers, transportation structures, and higher education buildings.
Depending on experience, you will either independently execute design tasks or lead technical efforts, mentor team members, and manage aspects of project delivery. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, code-compliant designs while balancing scope, schedule, and budget. Our global network provides access to subject matter experts and opportunities for cross-regional collaboration and travel.
What you'll do
Design and analyze structural systems for a variety of building types
Prepare calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and standards
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams
Manage scope, schedule, and quality of deliverables
For more experienced candidates, additional responsibilities may include
Leading structural design efforts on complex projects
Overseeing and mentoring junior engineers
Serving as a technical reviewer or engineer of record
Supporting client engagement and contributing to business development
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
6+ years of structural design experience in buildings
Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM)
Strong knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE)
Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently
Ideally, you'll also have
10+ years of progressive structural design experience, including complex projects
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
Professional Engineer (PE) license (required for senior-level consideration)
Structural Engineer (SE) license (strongly preferred)
Experience leading projects, teams, or major design packages
Proficiency with Revit and BIM coordination
Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., Eurocode)
Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., design-build, ECI)

110,600.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
173,600.00

The base salary range for this position is $110,600.00 to $173,600.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
