Job Summary
As a Job Coach, you’ll provide hands-on vocational training and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while helping operate our busy juice bar. Rather than completing tasks for clients, you’ll teach, encourage, and coach them to build confidence, independence, and real-world job skills.
Every day is different—you may be helping a client prepare smoothies, stock products, assist customers, package merchandise, or learn workplace communication. The goal is to create meaningful work experiences while maintaining excellent customer service and a positive team environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Client Coaching & Support
* Teach clients vocational and workplace skills through hands-on coaching.
* Encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
* Adapt coaching techniques to meet each client’s individual abilities.
* Promote confidence, teamwork, and personal growth.
* Use positive reinforcement and respectful communication.
* Maintain client safety and dignity at all times.
Retail & Store Operations
* Assist with preparing smoothies, juices, and other menu items.
* Support customers with friendly and professional service.
* Operate the point-of-sale system (training provided).
* Stock merchandise and organize displays.
* Package products for retail sale.
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store.
* Follow food safety procedures.
Team Collaboration
* Work closely with supervisors and fellow Job Coaches.
* Communicate client progress and any concerns.
* Participate in team meetings and training.
* Help create a welcoming and inclusive workplace.
Documentation
* Complete required daily documentation accurately and on time.
* Record client progress toward vocational goals.
* Report incidents or safety concerns immediately.
* Follow all agency and program policies.
Qualifications
Required
* High School Diploma or GED.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Dependable with a positive attitude.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Preferred
* Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
* Customer service, retail, restaurant, or food service experience.
* CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or training others.
