JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Account Manager’s primary role is to buy and sell plastic resins (in virgin, reprocessed and regrind form), secure sources of supply for both sales and our recycling operation, support existing accounts, and continuously expand the customer and vendor base.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Approach the sales process with a high degree of professionalism and integrity
- Maintain and develop existing company accounts and relationships
- Investigate potential business prospects & be responsible for new account calls.
- Foster connections with both new and old business partners to provide for customers and vendors.
- Develop, manage, and execute sales plans, sales budgets, and expense budgets.
- Work both directly and cooperatively with partners to close business based on customer's purchasing requirements.
- Help maintain data and sales statistics as required.
- Interact effectively at all levels of the customer and vendor relationships
- Achieve overall profitable revenue growth, including new business development.
KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Complex thinking skills for translating customer needs into solutions, including technical aptitude and problem-solving skills for implementing those solutions effectively
- Professional presence, including excellent verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills.
- Knowledge and willingness to learn of solutions, materials and processing.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously on a day to day basis, but not afraid to ask questions and learn from others.
- Willing to be a team player and do what it takes.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, willing to keep in touch and be on top of communicating expediently with business partners and colleagues.
- Adept organizational skills required.
- Minimal training and oversight required.
- Strong computer skills and, proficiency with MS Office applications preferred, especially Excel and Outlook
- Two years of exposure in B2B, face to face sales, preferably in the plastics industry.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
