Hampton Inn & Suites Lubbock Southwest is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background with experience in industrial maintenance.
Position Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment for guests and team members. This position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems while responding promptly to maintenance requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of hotel facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance programs according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
- Maintain swimming pool, spa, and related equipment.
- Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, doors, locks, windows, and other building components.
- Monitor and maintain fire safety, life safety, and emergency systems.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
- Assist with property renovations, upgrades, and special projects.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and on-call maintenance coverage when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training, trade certification, or vocational education preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality, commercial facilities, or multi-unit residential properties.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Basic computer skills for work order management and recordkeeping.

- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
