About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a pleasant elderly woman living with dementia in her private residence on Kauaʻi’s North Shore.
This is not a facility position. You will become part of a small professional care team dedicated to maintaining our client’s dignity, comfort, safety, and quality of life while allowing her to remain in the familiarity of her home.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and meaningful engagement throughout the shift.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Prepare nutritious meals and encourage hydration.
- Follow medication reminders and the established care plan.
- Monitor and report changes in physical, emotional, or cognitive condition.
- Record accurate shift notes and observations.
- Assist with transfers, walking, and fall prevention.
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and maintain a clean environment.
- Escort client on outings, appointments, and community activities as assigned.
- Work professionally with the Care Team Manager and family members.
- Maintain confidentiality and treat the client with dignity and respect at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience caring for seniors, especially individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease preferred.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Able to work independently while following detailed care instructions.Ideal Candidate
