MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER (6-8) – FT, PT & SUBSTITUTE
Carter G. Woodson School is a non-profit charter school in Winston-Salem, N.C. We serve 500 students from grades K – 12 each year and support over 80+ staff. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to join our team. The desired candidate for this position will have a passion for education and exercise responsible leadership. The candidate will communicate in a professional and positive manner at all times with parents, staff, students, school officials, and any other individual they may come in contact with.
Job Type:
Full-time; on campus.
Job Responsibilities:

Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;

Teach science and math concepts relevant to middle school students, including topics like fractions, decimals, percentages, basic algebra, geometry, and data analysis.

Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;

Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;

Prepare students to successfully pass all state-required assessments, including EOGs and/or EOCs

Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;

Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior;

Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards;

Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; and

Qualifications:
- North Carolina State Teaching License.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Proven experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work well with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of educational principles and teaching methods.
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
