Bread and Friends is hiring Brunch Line Cooks!
We are currently hiring one experienced cook for our fast paced brunch service.
The brunch culinary program at Bread & Friends is anchored in our elevated sharing plate menu that are meant to be enjoyed in our space alongside our bakery offerings. The synergy between restaurant and bakery is paramount to the B&F guest experience, and informs the restaurant menus; we place an emphasis on regionally sourced ingredients from local farms whenever possible, as well as our house-smoked meats.
Cooks will be working alongside Jeremy Broucek, Chef/Owner, who was a James Beard Award Semi-Finalist for Best Chef: Northeast in 2026, and was recognized as a Coastal New England Rising Star by Star Chefs in 2023.

We specialize in naturally leavened bread, artisan pastry, and elevated sharing plates for both brunch and dinner, complemented by a craft coffee program, wine and beer.

About this position:
- We are looking for a cook with at least one year experience who is looking to build upon what they already know and is eager to learn more. Various techniques and methods of cooking from curing to brining, fermenting to pickling, among various other methods of food processing will be used on a daily basis during brunch service.
- 5 shifts/week. Shifts are approx. 10 hours, and begin at 5AM/end around 3PM.
Position duties include:
- Managing a clean and organized station to the standards of the Executive Chef.
- Understanding ticket/order calls and priority of those orders.
- Proper execution of dishes on your station.
- Working as a team with your fellow kitchen team members.
- Working with a sense of urgency throughout the shift.
- Upholding high standards for yourself and others.
- The ability to understand and create detailed prep lists.
- Learning and understanding recipes, including knowledge of the correct pars and shelf life of ingredients.
- Having sharp knives that enable you to work efficiently and complete proper knife cuts.
- Learning and understanding product handling, care and storage.
- Learning and understanding cooking techniques featured on our menu.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of professional kitchen experience or other relevant experience/education is required.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain a calm and friendly demeanor in a fast paced, high volume environment.
- Can meet physical demands of position including pulling, pushing, carrying and lifting up to 50lbs, and standing for extended periods of time.
