American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel contract, working 4x12-hour day shifts with telemetry experience and Epic proficiency preferred.

Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting with 34 staffed beds
-
Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
-
Standard patient ratio of 1:6, with the possibility of flexing to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages
-
Every other weekend is required
-
PRN on-call for low census situations
-
Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
-
Charting performed in Epic
-
Patient care involves Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, insulin management, and rapid response
-
Active SC RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start; candidates with a pending SC license may still be considered

AHA BLS certification required
-
AHA ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred

Telemetry experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit, including telemetry monitoring, insulin administration, and participation in rapid response situations
-
All AHA certifications must be from the American Heart Association
-
Completion of online modules is required prior to the start of the assignment

First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position

Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs

Royal blue scrubs are required

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak hurricane activity occurs in August and September
