Parts Associate
Complies and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between stockroom and shop floor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reads work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
- Work directly with OEM Vendors
- Confers with Shop Manager to determine overdue material and parts and to inform them of status.
- Examines materials received, verifies parts numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
- Stores materials in stockroom.
- Expedites transfer of materials from stockroom to shop floor.
- Strength and stamina required to work with heavy parts (up to 75 pounds).
- Compares work tickets specifications to materials used to verify appropriate assignment.
- Follows all Miller Transportation and OSHA safety guidelines and policies
- Other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- One to three years related experience in a mechanical repair shop.
- Experience in general business math, such as ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Must be extremely organized and have attention to detail.
- Experience in the use of Computer and associated software. Working knowledge of RTA is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, and adhere to Miller Drug/Alcohol and Employment Policies.
