Love what you do! Meadowmont Animal Hospital is located in Chapel Hill, NC near the UNC campus. We are a small independently-owned hospital focused on practicing high-level medical care with the utmost compassion for dogs and cats.
We are currently searching for a skilled veterinary assistant who shares our passion for superior customer service, top-notch medicine and compassionate patient and owner care. A positive attitude, team mentality and cheerful disposition are a must.
Responsibilities:
· Providing general nursing care
· Obtaining accurate patient history and patient vitals
· Knowledge of proper vaccine protocol
· Familiarity with animal restraint techniques for dogs and cats
· Ability to perform in-house laboratory testing and radiology
· Administering medication and treatments
· Drawing blood samples on canines and felines for diagnostic testing
· Excellent organizational skills-
· Handle financial transactions, including collecting payments and processing invoices
· Understanding of basic veterinary critical care procedures, such as CPR and first aid a plus
Qualifications:
- 1 year previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal-related field is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills for data entry, appointment scheduling, and record keeping
- Team members must be able to lift 50 pounds, kneel and rise from the floor without assistance
