Toby’s Homemade Ice Cream is looking for a friendly, dependable team member with consistent weekday daytime availability to join our family-owned ice cream shop.
We are specifically looking for someone interested in steady, year-round part-time work, not just a seasonal position, at our Vienna location.
Our daytime opening shift is 11:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. We are looking for someone who can consistently work 2–4 weekday opening shifts per week throughout the year. No weekend work required.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, likes staying active during the workday, and wants a reliable part-time schedule. No previous ice cream or restaurant experience is required — we will train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and prepare the shop for our noon opening
- Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient service
- Scoop and serve ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes and other menu items
- Operate our point-of-sale system and accurately process cash and credit card transactions
- Restock cups, cones, toppings and other supplies throughout the shift
- Complete opening and daytime cleaning checklists
- Keep counters, equipment, customer areas and the shop clean and organized
- Receive, move and put away supplies when needed
- Monitor supplies during the shift and communicate when items are running low
- Complete cleaning, stocking and organizing tasks during slower periods
- Work independently when necessary while also contributing as part of the team
Qualifications
We’re more interested in finding the right person than someone with previous restaurant experience.

- Able to maintain consistent weekday daytime availability throughout the year
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Willing to clean, organize and restock as part of the job
- Comfortable using a smartphone and learning our Connecteam employee app
- Able to learn and use our Square register system
- Able to stand and move around for most of the shift
- Able to bend, reach and perform normal cleaning and stocking duties
- Able to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
- Interested in becoming a reliable, long-term member of our team
Previous retail, restaurant or customer service experience is helpful, but not required. Paid training will be provided.
Pay: $13.50 - $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
