We are seeking to add new coaches to our team in New York!
Specifically, we are looking for a life skills coach who specializes in supporting executive functioning skills with college students. The participant is looking for in-person support on or near the main campus of NYU while earning his master's degree. He is looking for support in managing anxiety, building confidence, and identifying his own voice in any given situation.
Coach will meet with the client 2x-3x per week for 60-90 minutes each. Coach will be paired with an existing team member as their co-coach and will share a call with their co-coach once per week to reflect on the previous week and collaborate on next steps.
About us: Our coaching sessions are in-person and take place at home, at school & in the community- wherever our participants' goals are. We work in coach teams, alternating appointments and gathering/sharing information with a greater network of supporters with the permission & of the participant. Travel to meet the client will be required.
Duties include:
- Conduct individual coaching sessions with clients to assess their needs and develop personalized goal plans
- Provide guidance and support to clients in achieving their goals, such as academics, employment, independent living, managing their medication, and more.
- Utilize a variety of techniques and modalities to address clients' unique needs
- Collaborate with management, coaches, and families as needed
- Keep accurate records of client progress, notes, and maintain confidentiality of participant information
- Participate in earning LifeTutors' in-house coaching certification
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a human services related field, such as psychology, counseling, social work or education -or- ICF/BCC/similar coaching certification
- Experience working in behavioral health with young adults
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Empathy and an accepting approach to supporting young adults in transition
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
