Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote healthy eating habits
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in accordance with health standards
- Support residents’ participation in social activities and community outings to foster engagement and independence
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA privacy standards and facility protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certification or training in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care are advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory-related conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> (personal assistance devices)
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Compassionate attitude with patience for working with diverse populations across different care settings
