Job Summary
We are a small private practice with one full time DVM. We are like family and in search to find an addition to our team. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, with a focus on providing high-quality care to a variety of animals. This role involves diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care. You will work closely with our support staff to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any issues.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, ensuring the highest standards of aseptic technique.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as required.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with staff and pet owners.
- Provide emergency care and critical care for animals in need.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments and progress.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, utilizing skills in animal restraint and handling.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education.
Experience
- Proven experience in veterinary practice is essential; critical care experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior is required.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and diagnostics is beneficial.
- Experience with exotic care is a plus but not mandatory.
