Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented , experienced, high-level Bookkeeper to manage the daily financial operations of our growing construction and real estate business in Amarillo, Texas. This role requires an expert in QuickBooks Desktop who can manage job costing, progress billing, multi-entity tracking, and general administrative real estate bookkeeping on-site at our local office. Responsibilities
- Maintain clean financial books using QuickBooks Desktop across multiple entities.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice entry and payment processing.
- Prepare journal entries, ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Manage real estate bookkeeping tasks including rental income deposits, property expenses, and vendor 1099 tracking.
- Conduct account analysis, review debits & credits, and perform account reconciliation tasks regularly to maintain data integrity.
Skills
- Proven experience with QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts.
- Familiarity with account reconciliation procedures including credit card, bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks.
- Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration across teams.
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of bookkeeping experience specifically within Construction or Real Estate (Required).
- Expert-level mastery of QuickBooks Desktop, including Estimates, Job Costing, and Class Tracking features.
- Strong comprehension of intercompany transactions and multi-entity accounts.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and commute daily to our Amarillo office.
