About This Role
The Childcare Closer is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children during the afternoon and evening hours while helping ensure the childcare center is properly cleaned, organized, and secured at the end of each day. We are looking for someone who is dependable, energetic, caring, organized, and takes initiative. Our closer plays an important role in making sure children end their day in a positive environment and that the center is clean, organized, and prepared for the following morning.

What You'll Do

Supervise and actively engage with children during afternoon activities and free play.

Maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming classroom environment.

Assist with snacks, diapering/toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines as needed.

Communicate professionally and positively with parents during pick-up.

Ensure children leave only with authorized individuals and follow proper sign-out procedures.

Combine classrooms at the end of the day while maintaining appropriate teacher-to-child ratios.

Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, toys, classroom materials, and frequently touched surfaces.

Sweep and/or vacuum classroom areas as needed.

Empty classroom trash and properly dispose of diapers and other waste.

Organize classrooms and return toys and materials to their proper locations.

Check bathrooms and common areas to ensure they are clean and ready for the next day.

Make sure children’s belongings are gathered and sent home appropriately.

Complete a final classroom check for personal items, safety concerns, and cleanliness.

Assist with securing the center at closing, including checking doors, lights, classrooms, and designated areas.

Report accidents, incidents, maintenance concerns, or unusual situations to management.

Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality expectations.
Requirements
Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working until the center closes.
Previous childcare experience preferred.
Ability to work positively with young children, families, and coworkers.
Must be able to complete required childcare training, background screening, and other licensing requirements.
Must be willing to assist in different classrooms based on the needs of the center.
Must be comfortable performing both childcare and end-of-day cleaning responsibilities.
About Us
We are a small childcare center on East Colonial looking for motivated teachers who want to inspire the children of our future! We are family owned and operated, we recently opened our doors in April 2023.
