Position Summary:
The Health Associate is responsible for supporting the efficient and effective flow of patients through the healthcare setting. This includes facilitating patient check-in/registration, coordinating examinations and treatments, and assisting in patient care — all delivered in a culturally sensitive manner with a focus on exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate patient check-in and registration processes in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Prepare patients for their visits, including obtaining vital signs and assisting with limited clinical procedures as directed.
- Schedule diagnostic tests, referrals, and specialty consults as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the EHR system.
- Organize and restock clinic and exam rooms to ensure they are clean, well-supplied, and ready for use.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment; report any shortages or maintenance issues.
- Assist providers, nurses, and other clinical staff in the delivery of care and coordination of services.
- Support interdisciplinary team members and other support staff to ensure quality, patient-centered care.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification or relevant healthcare training preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting is strongly preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and basic office software.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
