Position Summary
Kenah One Health Care Services is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and safety-conscious Patient Driver to provide transportation for clients enrolled in our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program. The Patient Driver is responsible for ensuring clients are transported safely and on time to and from the program, medical appointments, and other approved destinations while maintaining a professional, respectful, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for clients to and from the Substance Use Disorder Program.
- Transport clients to approved medical, behavioral health, and other program-related appointments as directed.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is clean, safe, and in good working condition.
- Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and routine maintenance of assigned vehicles.
- Accurately document mileage, fuel usage, trip logs, and other required transportation records.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Comply with all Kenah One Health Care Services policies and procedures related to client transportation, safety, confidentiality, and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with program staff regarding client transportation schedules, delays, or concerns.
- Treat all clients with dignity, respect, compassion, and professionalism while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Immediately report accidents, vehicle maintenance issues, incidents, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle when appropriate while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience providing transportation services is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, behavioral health conditions, or other vulnerable populations is preferred.
- Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders and their impact on individuals and families.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to assist clients and lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in varying traffic and weather conditions.
- Ability to enter and exit the vehicle frequently throughout the workday.
