We are seeking dependable, professional independent cleaning contractors who take pride in their work and understand the importance of quality, communication, and reliability.
Position Overview
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Work is offered on an as-needed basis depending on client bookings. There are no guaranteed hours or guaranteed number of assignments. Compensation is paid per completed turnover cleaning. The hourly rate shown on Indeed is an estimated earning range only.
Contractors may choose whether to accept available assignments, subject to availability and scheduling needs.
Compensation is paid per completed turnover cleaning rather than by the hour.
Responsibilities
Contractors may be asked to perform services including:
- Complete Airbnb turnover cleaning
- Prepare the property for incoming guests
- Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, patios, and entryways
- Dust all reachable surfaces
- Vacuum carpets and rugs
- Sweep and mop hard floors
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces
- Clean mirrors and glass
- Remove trash and replace liners
- Restock approved guest amenities
- Replace toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, soaps, and other supplies when requested
- Make beds according to company standards
- Replace all linens and towels
- Inspect the property for cleanliness and presentation
- Report maintenance concerns, damages, missing items, or unusual conditions
- Take clear photos before and/or after service when requested
- Verify that lights, windows, doors, and thermostats are properly set before leaving
- Ensure the property is guest-ready before departure
Linen Responsibilities
Some assignments may also include linen handling services such as:
- Washing bed sheets
- Washing pillowcases
- Washing duvet covers
- Washing mattress protectors
- Washing towels
- Drying linens
- Folding linens
- Inspecting linens for stains or damage
- Reporting linens that need replacement
- Returning clean linens to the property
- Organizing linen closets
Property Inspections
Contractors should notify Turnova Cleaning Services if they observe:
- Property damage
- Missing inventory
- Broken furniture
- Plumbing issues
- Electrical issues
- Appliance malfunctions
- Pest activity
- Safety hazards
- Excessive guest damage
- Items left behind by guests
Requirements
Applicants should:
- Have previous residential, hospitality, hotel, vacation rental, or Airbnb cleaning experience (preferred)
- Have reliable transportation
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Be able to travel throughout New Jersey as assignments require, including travel between North, Central, and South Jersey
- Be comfortable driving to different cities and counties based on client needs
- Have a smartphone with reliable internet access
- Be able to communicate by phone, text, and email
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Be able to lift approximately 30 pounds
- Be comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs throughout the workday
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be dependable and professional
- Maintain a positive attitude with clients and team members
Scheduling
Assignments are offered based on client demand.
Turnover cleanings commonly occur:
- Weekdays
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Morning check-outs
- Afternoon turnovers
- Same-day turnovers
Availability during weekends and peak travel seasons is highly preferred.
Compensation
- Paid per completed turnover cleaning
- Additional compensation may be available for approved add-on services or unusually large projects
- No guaranteed minimum number of assignments
- Payment schedule will be discussed during onboarding
Independent Contractor (1099) Information
This position is for an Independent Contractor (1099) and is not an employee position.
Please note:
- This is not a W-2 position.
- Health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, sick pay, retirement benefits, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation benefits, and other employee benefits are not provided through Turnova Cleaning Services.
- Contractors are responsible for maintaining any insurance they choose or are required to carry.
- Contractors are responsible for reporting and paying their own federal, state, and local taxes associated with income earned.
- Contractors will receive IRS Form 1099-NEC when applicable under IRS reporting requirements.
