Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service, ensuring that freight is delivered on time and in excellent condition.
Duties
- Operate tractor-trailer units, including flatbed, tanker, and refrigerated trailers.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and other equipment as necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times while adhering to regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered during transport.
- Ensure the secure transportation of goods by properly strapping down loads when necessary.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety protocols and procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Experience with route driving, load unloading, and freight handling is essential.
- Previous experience with various trailer types including flatbed, tanker, and refrigerated trailers is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to transportation and freight handling.
