Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, hospitals, and home community care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of physiology and be able to monitor vital signs while ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care while fostering a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring any changes are communicated to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their mental well-being.
- Help clients with mobility and transportation needs within the home or community setting.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.
- Document care provided in compliance with facility policies using electronic health record systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in urgent care or critical care settings to ensure comprehensive patient support.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or urgent care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and ability to monitor vital signs effectively.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
