Laboratory Technician Position Description
The Laboratory Technician will be the primary operator of the Biopyure Systems for the production of hemp products. In addition to the day to day operation of the system, the Technician will perform maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition. Work involves a wide range of occasionally complex work and duties requiring considerable care to effectively and efficiently dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, or otherwise work on general maintenance in varied capacities of such areas as electrician, pipefitter, machine repairman, plumber, millwright, welder, and reactors.

SHIFT SCHEDULE: 3 shfits

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Stage 1: Operate the Process – Position Title Jr Operator or Maintenance Technician
· Become proficient in implementing all safety requirements, operating requirements, and audit requirements.
· Be able to independently carry out functions.
· Unload trucks using forklift and manual labor.
· Implement and maintain all COC records, weight counts, and floor segregations policies.
· Load systems with hemp products.
· Operate systems.
· Clean-out and reload systems.
First performance review when successfully completed
· Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment for preventive maintenance.
· Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
· Adjust mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input or output and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.
· Troubleshoot electric circuits and electrical devices and machinery.
· Evaluate and report faulty material, environmental hazards, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery.
· Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
· Environment involves working with electrical systems, burners, natural gas and propane burners and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
Stage 2: In addition to the above requirements, add maintenance and repair responsibilities – Position Title Operator

- Resource Allocation – includes ability to allocate time, resources, tools and people to complete assigned and required tasks in a timely and safe manner
- Technical Ability – Strong ability on few key areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic processes including facility management and specific machinery located on site. Ability to read/understand equipment manuals and/or diagram schematics
- Process Improvement – strong execution of continuous improvement initiatives, formal or informal. Ensures Best Practices improve organizations efficiencies, regulatory compliance including facilitating project teams and technical problem-solving. Works with Manager or other teams to help determine viability of various tasks / projects
- Quality – knowledge, practice and execution of continuous improvement procedures and practices.
- Safety – Able to follow and understand all company and OSHA regulatory requirements
Second performance review when successfully completed
Stage 3: In addition to the above two requirements, add records and practices – Position Title Senior Operator
· Responsible for accurate record keeping.
· Carry out safety reviews.
· Actively follow all demonstrate all safety regulations and practices with junior staff.
Third performance review when successfully completed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· HS/GED is the minimum education required. Completion of accredited Community College or accredited Trade School training preferred.
· 5yrs hands on industrial electrical maintenance experience.
· Possesses current knowledge similar to that of a Journeyman Electrician.
· Basic understanding of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, generators, batteries and lighting systems.
· Familiar with PLC operation.
· Able to operate mobile equipment.
· Able to work at heights.
· Possess an excellent knowledge of the National Electric Code.
· Has adequate written and oral communications.
· Ability to reads and understands conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
Preferred skills:
· Apprentice/journeyman training program or technical school training in industrial electrical and/or automation is a plus.
· Certification as a qualified journeyman industrial electrician.
· Mechanical and welding skills.
· Experience working with medium voltage motor started and transformer switchgear (2300VAC - 35.5 KV).
· Experience with AC or DC overhead cranes.
· Experience with boilers, burners, and natural gas based systems.
· Computer skills with Microsoft Office.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is typically performed at the Arvada site. Denver warehouse temperatures/humidity are to be expected. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work involves a majority of standing, bending, stooping, twisting, climbing and some lifting up to 50 lbs. Expected work week of 40-50 hours minimum; heavier work weeks are expected.
HAZARDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
