Position Summary:
The Slitter operator is responsible for operating the unit to slit master coils as per applicable standard / order specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Reads mill orders and ITP’s as assigned.
· Changes over unit and sets up uncoiller, slit head (knives), and recoiller for product as per Mill orders.
· Inspects slit condition of coils and other quality output requirements during processing of coils.
· Maintains document control / data input of product traceability and performance.
· Maintains equipment and tooling.
· Housekeeping.
· Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to perform general math (Addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisions, fractions, and decimal points).
- Must be able to read a measuring tape.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Must be able to lift 60lbs.
- Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
- Ability to work well with coworkers as a team.
- Must be able to work in variable work conditions (hot, cold, noise, etc).
- We are willing to train the right candidates.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1 year of previous manufacturing or construction experience is preferred
