About the Role
The Shelter for Abused Women & Children is seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and relationship-driven Volunteer & Community Resources Manager to lead volunteer engagement and strengthen community partnerships that directly support survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.
This role serves as a key connector between The Shelter and the community by overseeing volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, in-kind donation coordination, outreach initiatives, and community resource development. The ideal candidate is collaborative, mission-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating meaningful impact through service and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain volunteers aligned with The Shelter’s mission
- Coordinate volunteer trainings, orientations, and compliance documentation
- Cultivate strong volunteer relationships through ongoing communication and engagement
- Plan volunteer appreciation and recognition initiatives
Community Outreach & Partnerships
- Represent The Shelter at community events, fairs, presentations, and outreach opportunities
- Promote Shelter programs and volunteer opportunities through public engagement
- Build relationships with community partners, supporters, and organizations
Development & Fundraising Support
- Support fundraising events, donor engagement initiatives, and community campaigns
- Assist with approved third-party fundraising activities and volunteer initiatives
- Coordinate monthly tours and outreach efforts with the Development team
In-Kind Donations & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate donation drives including Back-to-School and Holiday campaigns
- Manage donation logistics, donor communications, and distribution efforts
- Maintain updated essentials lists and support participant resource needs
Program & Operational Support
- Collaborate with program staff to identify volunteer and participant support needs
- Support special projects and community initiatives as assigned
- Provide support to Naples and Immokalee Shelter operations as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems such as Volgistics or DonorPerfect preferred
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required

This is a fully on-site position based in Naples, Florida and requires a five-day work week commitment.
Employment with The Shelter for Abused Women & Children is contingent upon successful completion of a Level 2 Background Screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes and applicable DCF requirements.
