FIREFIGHTER/EMT and FIREFIGHTER/PMDC
The City of McDonough is accepting applications for the position of full-time Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/PMDC.
This position performs firefighting duties in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires; provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured; maintains stations, equipment, and apparatus; provides public relations and education.
Minimum Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; at least 18 years of age; Georgia Firefighter and/or NPQ Firefighter I certification and Georgia EMT certification are required (EMT-I, AEMT, or Paramedic certification preferred); satisfactory MVR; pass pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screen; valid Georgia Driver’s license (Class B, E or F preferred); satisfactory background check. Successful completion of pre-employment written and physical agility testing.

Starting salary ranges: FF/EMT $42,580-$48,095; FF/EMTI or FF/AEMT $43,644-$49,297; FF/PMDC $45,826-$51,762; Additional compensation for college degree(s) and other approved certifications. Starting salaries DO NOT include holiday pay.
