Job Title: Cannabis Dispensary Floor Staff - Budtender B1
Job Type: Full Time (30-40 hours/week), weekends & holidays required.
Set Shifts: Opening shift 7:45am-3:30pm, mid shift 11am-7:30pm, closing shift 2:45pm-10:30pm
Reports to: Shift Supervisors & Operations Director
Location: Soquel, CA (Santa Cruz County)
Pay: DOE $17.00/hour + tips (Average Tips = $4-$5/hour on your paycheck)

Daily Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Always wear your Shop ID badge and adhere to Joint Efforts and shop policies, including state and local regulations.
- Opening/Closing: Responsible for opening and closing tasks, following shop-specific procedures.
- Customer Service: Greet customers, identify their needs, and guide them through product selection with expert knowledge. Ensure all customer profiles are correctly maintained in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about cannabis products, including brands, consumption types, product composition, and effects, to effectively communicate with customers.
- Order Fulfillment: Process orders (in-shop and online) accurately and compliantly, ensuring the correct products are provided to each customer.
- Shop Upkeep: Participate in cleaning and maintaining the shop, including trash/recycling management, break area upkeep, and property maintenance.
- Special Events: Be available for monthly and annual events such as high sales days ex) First Friday, THCA Day, Green Wednesday, Black Friday, and 4/20 celebrations.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Customer Interaction: Expertise in guiding new and regular customers, providing education, and answering questions about cannabis products.
- Cash Handling: Ability to handle guest transactions with accurate accounting of payment types. Ability to quickly and accuratley count and handle cash.
- Compliance & Regulations: Understanding of state and local cannabis laws, including customer verification and proper completion of customer profiles.
- Technology Proficiency: Ability to operate POS systems, manage online orders, and utilize payment technologies.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members, provide support when needed, and contribute to team huddles and meetings.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for 8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and move around the shop premises as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21+ years of age with current & valid ID
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a reliable mode of transportation to and from work.
- At least 1 year of experience in a guest facing retail environment.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus, but not required.
- Strong cash handling skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing industry
- Ability to adhere to strict compliance regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to keep a level head while working directly with guests in a retail enviroment.
Physical Expectations
- Expected physical aspects of shift
- Be able to be on your feet for 8 hours
- Ability to stoop or bend to grab low-level products
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs repeatedly
- Ability to often move around the sales floor and shop premises
- Ability to professionally work with the public in a retail setting where guest interaction is constant.
