Summary: The Principal Clerk assists the Administrative Services Coordinator in the delivery of programs and services for seniors at all Lifelong Montclair locations and through virtual programming. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Senior Services.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate logistics for daily programs and events, including making phone calls and confirming participant appointments.
- Assist with marketing efforts by creating flyers, managing social media content, distributing promotional materials, and cross-promoting programs.
- Maintain inventories of office, kitchen, art, and program supplies, including the refreshment cart and related equipment.
- Welcome and check in participants, maintain attendance records, and enter daily participation data into the scheduling system.
- Observe participant engagement, gather feedback, and communicate recommendations to improve programs and services.
- Maintain organized filing systems and accurate program records.
- Provide administrative and program support to instructors as needed.
- Set up and break down rooms for classes and events, including tables, chairs, and audiovisual equipment.
- Assist with planning and coordinating special events held on-site, outdoors, and occasionally at off-site locations.
- Host and monitor Zoom programs when assigned.
- Assist with participant outings and other Senior Services activities as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
·Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.· Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and record-keeping abilities.· Demonstrated patience, compassion, and professionalism when working with older adults and individuals from diverse backgrounds.· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications; experience with Zoom and social media platforms is preferred.· Ability to follow and enforce established safety policies and procedures.· Experience working with seniors is preferred.
Salary: $20.70 - $30.25 per hour; part-time, up to twenty-eight (28) hours per week. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent.
