We’re looking for a dependable Hydro Vac Operator to safely operate hydro excavation equipment that supports underground utility exposure and excavation projects. In this hands-on role, you'll operate specialized equipment, maintain a safe work environment, and deliver high-quality service while working in challenging outdoor conditions.

What You’ll Do

Operate hydro excavation trucks using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to safely expose underground utilities.

Perform hydro excavation work according to project specifications, company procedures, and all applicable safety requirements while maintaining safe work zones and mitigating job site hazards.

Safely drive and operate CDL-required vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Interpret utility locates, site markings, and excavation plans to prevent utility damage.

Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment deficiencies promptly.

Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor troubleshooting on trucks and hydro excavation equipment.

Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and project personnel regarding work progress and site conditions.

Maintain clean, organized vehicles, equipment, and work areas throughout each project.

Measure excavation depths and distances using tape measures and basic mathematical calculations.

Adapt to changing job site conditions, weather, and project priorities while maintaining productivity.

Assist with additional field operations and support other crews as business needs require.

Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on customer and project demands.
What You’ll Need

Valid Class A or Class B CDL with tanker endorsement, a minimum of one year of verifiable commercial driving experience, an acceptable driving record, and a current DOT Medical Card.

Basic knowledge of hydro excavation equipment, mechanical systems, DOT regulations, job site safety practices, utility locates, and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors, crew members, customers, and contractors in a fast-paced field environment.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and repeated entry and exit from trucks and equipment throughout 8–12 hour shifts.

Ability to work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions and around industrial noise, pressurized water systems, underground utilities, debris, uneven terrain, confined spaces, and while wearing required PPE.

Willingness to travel between job sites and work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
