Purpose & Scope of Position
The Field Sales Manager leads the performance, development, and execution of SnugZ's Outside Sales team. This role exists to maximize territory performance by building exceptional sales talent, strengthening distributor relationships, improving sales execution, and creating a culture of coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Rather than managing transactions, this leader develops people. They spend time in the field observing, coaching, challenging assumptions, identifying opportunities, and helping Territory Representatives become trusted business advisors to their distributors.
Success in this role is measured by increased territory revenue, stronger distributor engagement, improved forecasting accuracy, and consistently elevating the performance of every member of the sales organization.
The Field Sales Manager partners closely with Sales Leadership, Customer Experience, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, and Product teams to ensure the voice of the customer influences business decisions while delivering an exceptional distributor experience.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership, Performance & Accountability
Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of Territory Representatives by creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer focus.

Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, develop, and retain top sales talent.

Establish clear performance expectations and hold Territory Representatives accountable for achieving sales goals, executing territory plans, and delivering consistent results.

Adapt leadership style to the needs of each representative, providing coaching, guidance, or autonomy as appropriate.

Travel regularly with Territory Representatives to strengthen selling effectiveness, reinforce best practices, identify opportunities, and provide meaningful feedback.

Create a culture where accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement are expected at every level.

Use business metrics and CRM data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions that improve team effectiveness.

Address performance concerns promptly while recognizing and celebrating exceptional results.
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
Drive the execution of sales strategies that increase territory revenue, strengthen distributor relationships, and support SnugZ's long-term growth objectives.

Partner with the VP of Sales to develop and execute annual sales strategies and quarterly Wildly Important Goals (WIGs).

Identify opportunities to grow existing distributor partnerships while expanding business within targeted markets.

Coach Territory Representatives on strategic account planning, opportunity management, negotiation, and consultative selling.

Analyze sales trends, territory performance, market conditions, and competitive activity to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Improve forecasting accuracy by ensuring disciplined pipeline management and consistent sales planning across all territories.

Recommend pricing strategies, promotional initiatives, and product opportunities based on customer feedback, market trends, and business objectives.
Customer Partnership
Strengthen SnugZ's reputation by building trusted relationships with distributors and helping the sales team consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Partner with Territory Representatives during customer visits to strengthen strategic relationships and support key business opportunities.

Assist with complex negotiations, business reviews, and high-impact customer meetings.

Help resolve escalated customer concerns while balancing customer satisfaction with sound business decisions.

Champion the voice of the distributor by sharing customer insights and identifying opportunities to improve products, services, and internal processes.

Collaborate with Customer Experience, Marketing, Merchandising, Product Development, and Operations to ensure a seamless and differentiated customer experience.
Organizational Leadership
Provide strategic leadership that strengthens the sales organization, improves business performance, and supports SnugZ's continued growth.

Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning for the Outside Sales organization.

Evaluate territory alignment and recommend organizational changes that maximize market opportunity and sales effectiveness.

Manage departmental budgets and approve pricing, discounts, and goodwill requests within established company guidelines.

Influence product development, pricing strategies, and business initiatives by providing market intelligence and customer insights.

Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities that improve sales effectiveness, operational efficiency, and long-term organizational growth.

Experience & Qualifications
Required Experience

Five (5)+ years of progressive sales leadership experience leading high-performing field sales teams in a B2B environment.

Demonstrated success driving revenue growth through strategic sales leadership, territory management, and team development.

Experience leading geographically dispersed sales teams with varying levels of experience and performance.

Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies that deliver measurable business results.

Experience using sales analytics to drive forecasting, pipeline management, and business decisions.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, ERP systems, and AI-powered productivity tools.
Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications is preferred but not required.
