Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Preferred
Ashley Creek Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Lead Surgery & Anesthesia Veterinary Technician to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of surgery day—from preparing patients and equipment before the first procedure to ensuring every patient has a smooth recovery. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and anticipates the veterinarian's needs while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily surgical procedures and oversee patient flow on surgery days
- Prepare patients for anesthesia and surgery
- Place IV catheters and assist with anesthetic induction
- Monitor anesthesia from induction through recovery using multiparameter monitoring equipment
- Calculate and administer anesthetic and perioperative medications under DVM guidance.
- Anticipate the veterinarian's needs during surgery
- Maintain sterile surgical technique throughout procedures
- Monitor hospitalized surgical patients before and after procedures
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and packs
- Maintain anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, and surgery suite organization
- Assist with diagnostics including venipuncture, radiographs, laboratory sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing
- Assist with dental procedures as needed
- Provide client communication for surgical admissions and discharge instructions
- Help develop and maintain efficient surgery protocols
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital
Preferred:
- Previous experience assisting with veterinary surgery and anesthesia
- Comfortable placing IV catheters and performing venipuncture
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Dependable, compassionate, and able to work well as part of a team
- Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted
- Basic computer skills
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
- Experience with multiparameter anesthesia monitoring
- Experience with surgical nursing
- Experience with dental procedures
