Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Staff (Level III Group Home) Sanni Day Residential is a Level III therapeutic group home in Gastonia, NC serving youth. We provide a structured, trauma-informed environment focused on safety, skill-building, emotional regulation, and daily living success.
Responsibilities
Direct Care Staff provide 24/7 supervision and support to residents in a therapeutic setting. You will help maintain a safe, structured home environment, implement behavior support plans, support school and appointments, and document services according to NC and agency standards.
- Provide constant supervision and ensure resident safety at all times
Follow treatment plans, house rules, and behavior support strategies
- Lead structured daily routines (morning, after school, bedtime, chores, hygiene)
- Support emotional regulation using trauma-informed de-escalation
- Transport residents to school/appointments/activities
- Complete accurate documentation: shift notes, incident reports, medication logs (if trained), behavior tracking
- Maintain a clean, organized environment and model appropriate behavior
- Communicate professionally with leadership and clinical supports
Respond to crises appropriately and follow reporting requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
Must be 18+
- Valid driver’s license for transporting youth.
- Able to pass background checks and required screenings
Strong communication skills (written + verbal)
- Comfortable working with youth who may have mood/behavior challenges
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent
Willing to be trained and follow a structured program
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in group homes, foster care, residential treatment, Day treatment, or behavioral health
- Experience with trauma-informed care, de-escalation, or behavior management
Training/Certifications
- NCI (North Carolina Interventions) or equivalent crisis/de-escalation training
- CPR/First Aid (adult & child)
