We are seeking a Design & Release Engineer – Exterior Lighting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and release of exterior lighting components, ensuring performance, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires hands-on experience with NX software and cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop exterior lighting components (headlamps, tail lamps, fog lamps, DRLs, signal lamps) using Siemens NX
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in NX
- Support DFMEA and DVP&R development and execution
- Collaborate with suppliers for design feasibility (DFM/DFA) and component validation
- Conduct packaging studies and ensure integration with vehicle systems
- Participate in design reviews, issue tracking, and engineering changes
- Ensure compliance with automotive regulations (FMVSS, ECE lighting standards)
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, validation, quality, purchasing)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in automotive design (exterior light components)
- Strong proficiency in Siemens NX/ CATIA (3D & drafting)
- Experience with Design & Release process
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R
- Experience working with automotive suppliers and OEMs
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
