Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Awake Overnight (NOC)
Location: Staples, Motley, and Pillager, MN
Position Summary
We are hiring a Part-Time Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with disabilities, chronic mental illness, and/or traumatic brain injuries in a residential setting. This role requires staff to remain awake and attentive throughout the shift to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals served.
Key Responsibilities
- Remain awake and alert for the entire overnight shift
- Monitor the home to ensure a safe and secure environment
- Provide support with overnight needs, including personal care as needed
- Administer medications according to established procedures
- Complete routine safety checks and documentation
- Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical situations
- Assist with light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and preparation for the next day
- Accurately document all required information during the shift
- Follow all care plans, policies, and state regulations
- Communicate important updates to the incoming team
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background study and pre-employment drug screening
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete documentation accurately
- Ability to follow state and company policies, including 245D requirements
- Ability to stay awake, alert, and responsive throughout overnight hours
Schedule Requirements
- Part-time position
- Awake overnight (NOC) shifts (example: 9:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m. or similar)
- Must be available to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required
