Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Job Summary
A leading West Michigan manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations within a complex manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring production equipment operates reliably, maintaining world-class facility and grounds conditions, and leading maintenance staff to achieve operational excellence. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager will also provide technical leadership for equipment design, installation, facility improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives that support the organization's production goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead all maintenance operations, ensuring production equipment is properly maintained and available to support manufacturing schedules.
- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance personnel while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Manage facility infrastructure and grounds to maintain a clean, safe, and professional manufacturing environment.
- Provide technical leadership for the design, installation, startup, and operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Oversee facility improvement projects involving HVAC, gas handling systems, deionized (DI) water systems, robotics, wastewater treatment, paint systems, and other critical infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain systems for maintenance planning, equipment performance tracking, data collection, and project justification.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and support long-term business objectives.
Schedule, Location, & Compensation
- Schedule: Full-time, direct hire position
- Location: Holland, MI
- Compensation: $115,000-$140,000/YR.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Advanced training or experience in mechanical, electrical, or plant engineering strongly preferred.
- Six to eight years of maintenance management experience within a large manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading facility improvement projects involving complex manufacturing support systems, including HVAC, gas handling, DI water, robotics, wastewater treatment, and paint systems.
- Proven leadership experience developing, coaching, and managing maintenance teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
