Job Description
ZiyoArt Academy is looking for a reliable and experienced cook to prepare fresh hot lunches for our summer program students.
We will provide the ingredients. The cook will be responsible for preparing lunch for about 30 children, packing the food safely, and delivering it to the academy at the required time each day.
This position is best for someone who is responsible, clean, punctual, and comfortable cooking healthy meals for children.
Responsibilities
Prepare hot lunch for approximately 30 children, Monday through Friday.
Follow the weekly menu provided by the academy.
Cook meals in a clean and safe manner.
Pack food properly for delivery.
Deliver lunch to the academy on time every day.
Communicate in advance if ingredients are missing or if there are any issues.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Requirements
Experience cooking for children, families, schools, daycare, catering, or community programs preferred.
Must be reliable and punctual.
Must be able to prepare meals for 30 children.
Must follow food safety and cleanliness standards.
NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred.
Must be available Monday–Friday during the summer program.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Uzbek, Central Asian, halal, or home-style meals is a plus.
Comfortable preparing meals such as rice dishes, pasta, soups, dumplings, chicken, meat dishes, vegetables, and kid-friendly lunches.
