Job Summary:
As our newest Certified Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of our dietary department, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory control. You will also supervise and train dietary staff, provide exceptional customer service, and collaborate with other departments to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall operations of the dietary department, ensuring efficient and effective food service delivery
- Oversee menu planning and food preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents' preferences
- Monitor food production and quality control to maintain high standards of nutrition and safety
- Supervise and train dietary staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service
- Collaborate with other departments to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain inventory control, ordering supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to food service operations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, therapeutic diets, and food safety regulations
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, staff, and families
- Experience in menu planning and recipe development
- Knowledge of dietary software systems is a plus
Skills:
- Cook: Proficiency in cooking techniques and recipe execution to ensure high-quality meals for residents
- Food service management: Ability to oversee all aspects of food service operations, including staffing, menu planning, and budgeting
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to maintain safety and sanitation standards
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate dietary staff towards achieving departmental goals
