We are looking for an energetic Garden Educator to transform our partners' school gardens into lively hubs of learning, growth, and connection. This job is about more than just harvesting vegetables; it's about inspiring the next generation to care for the environment and lead their communities. In this role, you will work with two schools to design hands-on experiences that bridge the gap between the classroom and nature. You will ensure that every student from Kindergarten to 5th Grade, including those in Special Day Classes, feels included, supported, and excited to learn.
This is a full-time, ten-month fellowship position, beginning on August 10, 2026, and ending on June 10, 2027. The role will require working on-site at two elementary schools in San Francisco and offers the flexibility to work remotely during non-site days.
We aren't just looking for a "task-master," we're looking for a relationship-builder. You are someone who thrives on collaboration, whether you're co-planning a lesson with a classroom teacher, leading a volunteer workday, or receiving feedback from your Regional Supervisor to sharpen your skills. You're organized enough to handle student assessments and attendance, but flexible enough to pivot when a sudden rainstorm turns a lesson into a "weather observation" day.
