Overview:
Staxmatic is seeking a Project Accountant with a background in construction accounting. This role is essential in managing project financials—from tracking costs and budgets to supporting billing and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute to a collaborative project management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure alignment with approved financial plans

Prepare and process project-related invoices, purchase orders, and change orders

Reconcile project costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses

Support forecasting and reporting for ongoing projects

Maintain organized financial records, documentation, and tools to support accuracy and efficiency

Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and accounting team to ensure proper project accounting practices

Assist with audits, month-end close processes, and financial reporting as needed
Qualifications and Skills:

3–5 years of experience in accounting or project accounting, preferably in construction

Strong knowledge of cost tracking and financial documentation

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/project management software (e.g., Procore or similar)

Ability to interpret construction contracts, budgets, and financial reports with attention to detail

Deep understanding of ASC 606
